In short
More about me
My name is Beth and I am an Early Childhood Educator. I began my career in childcare when I was 19 and worked as a nanny while studying ‘Commercial Cookery’ and the ‘Diploma in Children’s Services’. I then worked in before and after school care and as a cook for a Long day care centre during school hours. Following this role, I got a job as a cook in a long care day centre which involved planning and preparing meals for 44 children.
After finishing my diploma, I was lucky enough to get a job at the school I went to as a child and became the centre director of the Before and After School Care there, where I worked for 10 years.
I have been at WLDCC since January 2015. I feel very lucky to be a part of this wonderful team and really value Alka’s advice that she gives to me to be a better educator and her caring nature towards the staff and families.
I enjoy working at this centre because every day is different and filled with rewarding experiences, fun and laughter. The friendships and bonds you make with the children, staff and parents are very special and something I always look forward to.
I believe each child in a unique individual and their needs are all the same, to be loved and listened to are very important for a child’s happiness and adult’s too.
I love the outdoors, running and spending time with my dogs. On the weekend, you will mostly find me in the mountains somewhere.
